FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)
LIGHT SENSORS
How often should my light sensors be recalibrated?
We recommend that they should be returned to Skye every 2 years.
Pyranometers can only be recalibrated between April and September. Pyranometers returned outside of this period will have the sensor head section exchanged for reconditioned units that were calibrated over the summer.
Are Skye light sensors waterproof?
All Skye sensors, excluding the SKR 1800 & 1850 are sealed to IP68 rating. The SKR 1800 and 1850 are sealed to IP65.
Can Skye light sensors be used underwater?
Except for the SKR 1800 & 1850, all Skye sensors are guaranteed to a depth of 4 metres. However, we have a number of customers successfully using Skye sensors to greater depths.
